Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology or related areas

Preferred Experience Requirements

Research experiences in areas of next-generation sequencing including related bioinformatics, plant genetic transformation and tissue culture, development of molecular markers and mapping are highly desirable. Knowledge and/or experiences on sweetpotato or root crops are plus.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

The candidate should have very good knowledge and training in areas of plant biology, molecular biology and genomics. Knowledge and/or experiences on sweetpotato or root crops are plus.

Preferred Licenses/Certifications

Valid Driver’s License.

Posting Summary

The position will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the funded research project. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, assisting in conducting all planned research, especially in development of a novel type of molecular marker and Agrobacterium-rhizogenes-mediated root transformation; coordinating research efforts with collaborators; publishing research results; managing laboratory; training and supervising students; assisting in writing research findings for scientific reports and peer-reviewed journals and articles.
