Posting Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing and supervising review of payroll posting activity and preparation of worksheets, vouchers and journal entries, reconciliations and payroll tax submission. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, analyzing and processing all international employees including student workers/graduate assistants in the Nonresident Alien Tax Compliance System (also known as Glacier) by working with each international employee to set up a Glacier Profile; following up to ensure employee documents are properly submitted to the Payroll Office and ensuring compliance with government Foreign National Rules for all active participants in the Glacier System; working with international student scholarship recipients in partnership with Treasury Services and vendors/contractors from Account Payable to determine appropriate taxation based on applicable paperwork, treaties and rules; analyzing and processing EPAs to verify employee information in the Payroll System (BPP) and making necessary changes; processing source changes from the Payroll System, credit/debit the appropriate based on effective dates, percentage changes and fund allocations; reviewing source changes for discrepancies and working with the appropriate parties to rectify any discrepancies found; overseeing the records retention process for the Payroll Office by ensuring that employee and payroll documents have been properly scanned into Laserfiche; ensuring compliance with the university’s records retention schedule; preparing Journal entries; maintaining changes and corrections to employee’s banking options, handling ACH rejections, stopping payments and replacement checks; processing bank transfers and disbursement vouchers to correct bank postings of payroll; coordinating and assisting with TimeTraq (timesheets) process for bi-weekly payroll and providing training for TimeTraq; preparing and submitting child support, ORP and TSA payments by analyzing document accuracy and appropriate approvals.; entering requests in the Payroll System for processing; verifying processed checks with the request to ensure accuracy prior to submitting to vendors to validate proper allocation on the behalf of university employees.
