Required Education

Presently enrolled for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done. For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least six (6) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or pre-registered at least 6 undergraduate semester hours or 9 graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term; must be in academic good standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum GPA must be 2.0.

Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid Certifications.
Previous experience at a water park or aquatic facility.
Pass the PVAMU Aquatics staff skills test.

This position is responsible for performing basic cleaning assignments as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility. Primary duties include, but not limited to, Assisting with day-to-day operations of the aquatics area with Recreational Sports Department; Maintaining constant surveillance of patrons in the water and facility, observe patrons for safety and policies compliance; Acting immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency; Inspecting the facility and report unsafe conditions or equipment to the Head Guard, Student Coordinator and/or the Aquatics Coordinator.
