Knowledge as a Department Head, Associate Dean/Dean of a College or someone who has been a Director of a reputable Research Center. Great Communication Skills and Ability to Work as Team Member.
This position is responsible for assisting the Vice President of Research & Dean of the Graduate School in leading, assessing, and managing programs and services that foster the increased productivity of multi-disciplinary research and the leadership of research programs. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, assisting the Vice President and Dean in leading, assessing and managing programs and services that foster the increased productivity of multi-disciplinary research, in addition to providing academic and administrative leadership for research of the land grant model of education; promoting the acquisition of research scholarship, creative projects and initiatives aligned with the University’s mission and strategic plan; overseeing research compliance according to federal, state, Texas A&M University system (TAMUS) and University regulations and leading in the expansion of research; assisting in the effective management of some key fiscal resources for both the Office of Research and Graduate Studies as deemed necessary by the Vice President and Dean; providing oversight of the Sponsored Research Programs to include review and approval of proposals; providing direct oversight to Grant Writers and attracting research opportunities/funding to the University.
