A doctorate in Animal Science or related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Evidence of teaching experience in the area of general animal science. The successful candidate must also show a documented commitment to scholarly research as evidenced by an ongoing record of peer-reviewed publications.

This position is responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in Animal Science (ANSC). Develop and maintain up-to-date course syllabi that contribute to effective classroom instruction delivery. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, providing appropriate and effective classroom instruction to undergraduate/graduate courses as assigned; managing classes to maximum efficiency using state-of-the-art technologies and delivery methods; providing academic, organizational advisement to students and also serve as mentor as appropriate; maintaining appropriate office hours for student conferencing, tutoring, advising and general student development; developing and managing an appropriate research plan/program of work commensurate with academic areas of expertise and in-keeping with the research goals of the college as set forth in the strategic plan/and National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) goals and plan of work; developing research manuscripts for publication in respective professional journals as well as develop research proposals for external funding; maintaining internal/ external collegial relationships with strategic partners, organizations and alliances. Maintain active participation in professional societies; student recruitment; supporting student retention, promoting enrollment enhancement and management, supporting student development, actively participation in University and departmental activities; serving on various departmental/college/university committees related to program development, student recruitment/retention and academic enhancement.
