ABD must document has defended dissertation proposal or earned doctorate from regionally accredited university in Psychology and credentials that warrant Asst. Prof. appointment.

Required Experience

Teach a variety of courses especially clinical, cross-cultural, or forensic. Teaching should align with the mission and goals of the department and college. Research should align with the mission and goals of the department and college plus demonstrate an ability to publish in scholarly journals.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Candidate will be expected to become licensed psychologists in the State of Texas within one year of appointment. Candidate should demonstrate an active research program while at the same time be able to actively seek external funding.

Applicant should demonstrate an excellent teaching record, demonstrate ability to secure state, federal, and foundation funding, and demonstrate interest in mentoring graduate students.

Preferred Licenses/Certifications

Successful candidates should be license-eligible or eligible for clinical licensure in the State of Texas within one year of the appointment.

This positon is responsible for teaching courses at the graduate level, conduct research and supervise doctoral students. Primary duties include, but are limited to, teaching graduate level courses in Biological Bases of Behavior, Child and Adolescent Development, Clinical Psychology, Therapeutic Interventions, Assessment in Juvenile Forensic Psychology M.S. and Clinical Psychology Ph.D. programs; conducting research; applying for grants and publishing; participating in service commitments within the department, college, and university as well as the profession.

Special Requirements

To be considered for the position, applicants should have an earned doctorate from a regionally accredited university in psychology and have credentials that warrant appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful applicant must demonstrate the ability to teach diverse groups of students at the undergraduate level. Although ABDs will be considered, the successful applicant must complete their doctoral degree within one year of appointment.
